Trumpeter David Buchbinder is, according to his website, a “performer, creator and producer in music and culture, working in the borderlands where people, cultures, genres and disciplines intersect.” Klezmer, Afro-Cuban, Jewish Folk and Jazz are his most-often explored musical genres, often all mixed together. He was joined by members of his Odessa/Havana ensemble for this stunning 2017 performance at ideacity. Between songs, he shared his philosophy about creativity – which he described as “the mediating faculty that allows us to move between the inner world to the outer world.”
