Session 11 – Geek Pot Pourri
Women are sellers of sex and men are buyers of sex. This is a myth that Author Marina Adshade dispelled in our first session of the afternoon. This session that discussed the economics of sex started off our 11th session of the day on a high note.
Our next speaker on love and sex was the hilarious Amy Webb who has broken down her finding a partner to math and probabilities. After years of searching, she finally decided to try online dating. During her talk she broke down the correlations she found through algorithm data and her quest to find the perfect Jewish prince charming.
After a yoga streatch break Mike Merrill, the only man who is publically traded spoke to the audience about diving his life up into shares. Mike, who started this project in 2008 has put his life decisions in the hands of others. Recently he created a ‘romance advisory board’ to help him decide on all his romantic endeavors.
Our final two speakers of the afternoon where Melissa kit Chow & Helena Slosar. The women who founded mk+H created a vest that hugs you back entitled ‘like-a-hug.’ Melissa and Helena work between art, activating spaces, and encourage interaction with the environment.
We finished out this session with a quick break and moving onto our final session of ideacity on Policy Geeks.
