Edith Widder on the Destruction of our Oceans

2012, Environment
Presented By: Edith Widder

“Environmental degradation is the elephant in the room that nobody wants to talk about,” says deep sea biologist Edith Widder. “We’re destroying the ocean before we know what’s in it.”  By using her unique technologies to help create curriculum to teach children to do real, hands-on science – sampling, analyzing data, producing results, taking community action and solving problems – she’s hoping to equip the next generation with the optimism and the tools they will need to counteract the catastrophe of ecosystems spiralling out of control.
