Robert Fung
According to Toronto Life magazine, Robert Fung has a job that requires “a brain surgeon’s dexterity, a diplomat’s tact and an investment banker’s acumen.”
To create a vision of loveliness along the Lake Ontario shoreline in a few short years, he plans to fell the monstrous Gardiner Expressway, one of the major commuter arteries into the downtown core. As the chair of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Task Force, on behalf of federal, provincial and municipal governments he recently issued a report detailing a strategic business plan for the $12 billion redevelopment and financing of Toronto’s waterfront.
He was appointed Deputy Chairman of Yorkton Securities, Canada’s leading technology investment bank, in January 2001. Before joining Yorkton, he was a senior partner with the Capital West Group and former vice-chairman of Gordon Capital Corp. He is also a member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee on Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation and is part of the Team Canada Inc. Advisory Board, which provides advice to the federal government on Canada’s international business development.
