Joeffer Caoc
“Progressive, sexy clothing” and “Canada’s answer to fashion’s future” – these are among the many accolades that have been bestowed upon Misura, the award-winning signature collection of wunderkind fashion designer Joeffer Caoc.
Six years after launching his label, the designer attracts a faithful following among fashionistas with his unusual and luxurious fabrics, skillful tailoring, clean modern lines, and his innate understanding of modern women’s wardrobe needs. “It looks beautiful on the hanger, but you can also wear it,” as Caoc once described his design aesthetic to Flare magazine.
Formal recognition has come Caoc’s way with two New Designer of the Year awards from the City of Toronto Excellence in Fashion Awards and, most recently, with the Designer of the Year award in 1999. Mr. Caoc was winning awards even before he graduated from the fashion design program at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto.
After joining the studio of internationally acclaimed Canadian designer Lida Baday in 1993, Mr. Caoc launched Misura from the Toronto Fashion Incubator in 1995. The Misura collection is available exclusively in the U.S. at Saks Fifth Avenue (in Manhattan, Boston and Beverly Hills) and in Canada at Holt Renfew.
A darling of the Canadian fashion media, Misura is generally regarded as the contemporary Canadian label most likely to succeed on the world fashion stage.
