Jerome Godboo

Jerome Godboo

Victoria-born vocalist, harmonica virtuoso and front man extraordinaire, Jerome Godboo has shared the stage with Prince, The Tragically Hip, Johnny Winter, Levon Helm, Jose Feliciano and many more.

He has recorded and toured with Alannah Myles, Jeff Healey, Ronnie Hawkins and, most recently, Jimmy Bowskill. Jerome has released two albums with his former band, The Phantoms, as well as five solo albums, and has supported many Canadian musicians.

His favourite performances include performing for more than 20,000 people at the Canadian Farm Aid benefit in January 2000, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, and on-stage with Jimmy Bowskill at the Montreal Jazz Festival in the summer of 2002, before a record-breaking crowd.

Godboo’s new CD, The Pain and the Glory, captures the edgy blues and funk soaked sound and raw emotion in a stripped down studio setting with guitarist Damian Arokium, bassist Leo Valvassori, and drummer Al Webster. It’s a potent mix, one that combines the vibrant musical legacy of decades past with a passion and urgency that constantly renews itself.
