Greg Zeschuk & Ray Muzyka

Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, both MD’s educated at the University of Alberta, are on a mission to entertain the world. Using profits from their medical practises, they launched Edmonton-based BioWare, an electronic entertainment company specializing in creating computer and console video games, in 1995.

Zeschuk and Muzyka have recently partnered with LucasArts to produce the first Star Wars role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (to be released this year). According to ROB Magazine, they’ve also finished a first round of external financing for Codebaby, an online entertainment spin-off. Other BioWare games include Baldur’s Gate and MDK2, both of which have won numerous gaming accolades, including several prestigious E3 Game Critics Awards.

According to Alberta Venture magazine, BioWare showed an increase of 462% in sales over the past three years, making it the fastest growing company in the province. They were both recently named to Canada’s Top 40 Under 40.
