Gordon F. Gibson
Gordon Gibson is senior fellow in Canadian studies at The Fraser Institute, a Canadian economic think tank that proposes and debates competitive market solutions for public policy problems.
Active in both business and public affairs in Western Canada, he has served as a regular columnist with The Financial Post, The Vancouver Sun and The Globe and Mail.
During the 1970s, he served as both MLA and leader of the British Columbia Liberal Party form 1975 to 1979. Recently, Gibson has produced a major public discussion document of British Columbia’s position on the restructuring of federalism and other issues, commissioned by the Province of British Columbia.
He is currently research aboriginal issues and has recently published “Comments on the Draft Nisga’a Treaty” (January 1999), “A Principled Analysis of the Nisga’a Treaty” (May 1999), and “Principles for Treaties” (May 2000).
Gibson was born in Vancouver. He attended the University of British Columbia (B.A.) and Harvard Business School (M.B.A) and also conducted research work in political science at the London School of Economics.
