David Jay

David Jay is an American asexual activist. He is the founder of the Asexual Visibility and Education Network at asexuality.org, which has over 30,000 members, representing the world’s largest online community of people who do not experience sexual attraction. He argues that asexuality is not a choice, but a sexual orientation.

Jay is fascinated with the way that social movements form and with the way that people build intimate relationships without sexuality. His work aims to raise public awareness and acceptance of asexual relationships.

David has been featured on 20/20 and the front page of the New York Times for his work, and is the subject of a feature length documentary, (A)sexual.
