Dennis Bennie
Delrina Corporation’s products, such as WinFax software, garnered annual sales revenue exceeding $130 million while Canadian technology pioneer, entrepreneur and innovator Dennis Bennie was the CEO. From 1988 to 1998, Mr. Bennie made the independent software developer and publisher a world leader in the communications software market.
Not content to rest on his virtual laurels, in 1997 he founded the XDL Ventures Fund. Today, he is a principal at CDL Intervest Capital Corporation, a venture capital firm that focuses on new Internet-related businesses. The $25 million fund is now fully invested and has yielded exceptional returns to date.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Mr. Bennie entered the world of technology in 1979, when he co-founded Mission Electronics, a leading British audio equipment manufacturer. In 1982 he sold his interest in Mission Electronics and founded Aviva Software, an independent mass-market software developer. Under his direction, the company expanded its scope to include software distribution and merged with Ingram Micro Inc. in 1986 to become Canada’s largest software distributor. Mr. Bennie is also a director and advisor to numerous high-tech companies.
