Seth Stephens-Davidowitz



Seth Stephens-Davidowitz is a contributing op-ed writer at The New York Times and a former data scientist at Google. He has written extremely influential articles on how to use new data sources to answer big questions. These include: How many American men are gay? How much did racism cost Obama? What causes depression? His studies have used Google searches, Facebook profiles, and other new, “big data” sets.

He received his PhD in economics from Harvard in 2013. He is at work on a book on his research, to be published by HarperCollins.
