Rev. Maggie Helwig

The Reverend Maggie Helwig is the rector of the Anglican parish of St Stephen-in-the-Fields in Kensington Market, a small inner-city church which strives to be a community of solidarity with the marginalized, and aspace for theological and artistic exploration. Before her ordination as a priest, Maggie worked as a writer, editor, arts organizer, and human rights activist. She has published twelve books of poetry, essays and fiction; her most recent novel, Girls Fall Down (Coach House Press) was shortlisted for the Toronto Book Award in 2009, and chosen as the Toronto Public Library’s One Book Toronto in 2012.
