Brendan Quine



Brendan (Ben) Quine is Chief Technical Officer, Chair, and Co-founder of Thoth Technology. He is also a professor at York University’s Lassonde School of Engineering.

Dr. Quine leads Thoth’s technical team. He has more than 25 years of experience in the space industry and related sectors. His specialist capabilities include spacecraft-systems development and the certification and test of space equipment. He is principal investigator for the Northern Light mission to Mars and the Argus pollution monitor. He is a registered professional Engineer of Ontario.

Dr. Quine previously worked for the European spacecraft manufacturer EADS Astrium Ltd. and is experienced with all phases of spacecraft design and manufacture. He has worked on Astrium’s cryogenic cooler program and on the development of navigation and propulsions systems for spacecraft, including SOHO, XMM, INTEGRAL, and CLUSTER. During his doctoral research at the University of Oxford, he developed and patented an autonomous star tracker for attitude determination and spacecraft navigation, recently launched on the European spacecraft, PROBA.
